TencentX, an initiative under tech giant Tencent that supports high-growth startups, recently brought a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to Indonesia to explore the region’s fast-growing tech ecosystem. The group was hosted by ACV Capital, a leading Southeast Asian venture capital firm, at its headquarters in Jakarta.
The visit served as a platform to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for cross-border collaboration between China and Southeast Asia. During the session, Helen Wong, Managing Partner at ACV Capital, shared an in-depth look at Indonesia’s digital economy, ACV’s investment thesis, and the growing potential for bilateral innovation and investment.

Also joining the session was Jane Yan Zhang, General Manager of Shipper, one of ACV’s portfolio companies. Shipper is a logistics technology company headquartered in Jakarta with over 1,500 employees. Zhang shared insights into Shipper’s regional expansion and the company’s growing presence in China, including efforts to support cross-border commerce and innovation through its R&D center in Hangzhou.

“We were delighted to host the TencentX delegation and to share the energy and momentum we’re seeing across Indonesia’s tech ecosystem,” said Helen Wong. “This kind of dialogue helps strengthen regional connections and opens the door to meaningful partnerships.”

The session facilitated an exchange of ideas on product-market fit, scaling logistics infrastructure, and capturing growth in underserved markets, highlighting Indonesia’s role as a strategic entry point into the broader Southeast Asian region.
