ACV Capital–backed Xendit, Southeast Asia’s leading payments infrastructure provider, has completed the acquisition of Payex, a Bank Negara Malaysia–licensed payment gateway.
This marks an important step in strengthening Xendit’s operations in Malaysia and highlights its long-term commitment to the country’s digital economy. The announcement was made at the Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention 2025, following two years of localized development since Xendit entered the Malaysian market in 2023.
With the acquisition, Payex will be rebranded as Xendit Malaysia, operating under its local license while leveraging Xendit’s regional technology stack to deliver seamless, end-to-end payment solutions.
Since entering Malaysia, Xendit has onboarded over 4,500 businesses and processed more than 5 billion ringgit (US$1.1 billion) in payment volume.
Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its team, deepen partnerships, and launch educational initiatives for businesses nationwide.
