CARSOME Group, Southeast Asia’s largest integrated automotive e-commerce platform, has strengthened its regional financing capabilities through a new RM150 million (US$36 million) revolving working capital facility extended to CARSOME Capital by MUFG Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
This facility marks a significant expansion of the partnership between CARSOME, MUFG, and Japan Consumer Credit Service (JACCS), a leading global consumer finance group under MUFG. The collaboration deepens operational alignment and supports CARSOME Capital in scaling innovative automotive financing solutions across Southeast Asia.
Strong momentum across CARSOME’s financing business
Since its establishment in 2018, CARSOME Capital has disbursed more than RM1.4 billion in financing, supporting 57,000 transactions across Malaysia. With MUFG and JACCS onboard, the company is rolling out a wider range of tailored financial offerings aimed at improving accessibility, boosting governance standards, and driving sustainable regional expansion.
This latest facility follows CARSOME’s earlier US$15 million financing from HSBC Malaysia under an asset-based lending facility, further underscoring institutional confidence in the company’s business fundamentals.
Backed by ACV Capital and leading regional investment partners, CARSOME Group continues to strengthen its leadership in Southeast Asia’s used-car market through an integrated automotive ecosystem.
The company operates a consumer-to-business (C2B) model that enables individuals to sell used cars directly to a broad network of dealer partners, alongside a business-to-consumer (B2C) model offering certified used vehicles to end customers. CARSOME is active across Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, supported by a network of more than 13,000 dealers in over 50 cities and nearly 80 physical stores across the region.
In Q2 2025, the company reported EBITDA of US$5 million, representing a fourfold increase year-on-year.
CARSOME Capital’s Managing Director, Nicholas Wong, noted that MUFG and JACCS’ continued support provides strategic backing for CARSOME’s next phase of growth.
“With this strengthened partnership, we can scale agile financing solutions for both car buyers and used car dealers, accelerating our mission to transform the automotive ecosystem in the region,” he said.
