ACV Capital-backed Waste4Change, recognised in Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch 2026, managed 38,000 tonnes of waste in 2025 and serves more than 400 companies and 21,000 households.

Indonesia’s waste challenge extends beyond collection. How waste is sorted, processed and recovered determines how much can be kept out of landfills and returned to productive use.

Founded in 2014 by Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano, Founder and CEO, and Paola Cannucciari, Co-Founder and Advisor, Waste4Change provides waste collection, processing, recycling and recovery services. The company also provides waste-management infrastructure, advisory and traceability.

Waste4Change has managed more than 90,000 tonnes of waste since its founding, including 38,000 tonnes in 2025. The company was named to Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch 2026 in the Energy & Green Tech category.

From collection to processing and recovery

Waste4Change operates five material recovery facilities (MRFs) and works with partners across 12 Indonesian cities.

The facilities sort and process collected waste. Recyclable materials can then be recovered, while organic waste can be composted instead of sent to landfill.

Waste4Change also provides collection and sorting, waste audits and advisory, infrastructure development, processing and material recovery.

This gives the company a role beyond waste collection, covering how waste is processed, tracked and recovered.

400+ companies and 21,000 households

Waste4Change serves more than 400 companies and 21,000 households across business and residential customers.

Revenue comes from waste collection and processing, advisory and research, infrastructure projects, recovered materials and recycled products. The company also has recurring collection contracts with businesses, institutions and residential communities.

Waste4Change works with 300 informal-sector partners across its collection and recovery network.

Expanding waste processing capacity

Waste4Change plans to increase capacity at its existing MRFs to handle higher volumes of waste.

The company is also looking to work with more townships and municipalities. Another focus is increasing its ability to process low-value materials that are typically more difficult to recycle.

These areas will form the next stage of Waste4Change’s growth, building on more than 90,000 tonnes of waste managed to date.
