Reku, a leading cryptocurrency exchange in Indonesia, is broadening its financial services by introducing access to over 600 US stocks through its platform. This new offering, which allows investments starting from just US$1, is fully licensed and complies with international and local regulations.
Jesse Choi, co-CEO of Reku, stated, “After successfully providing crypto assets since 2018 with 1 million investors, Reku is committed to answering the investment needs of the public through US stocks.”
Building on its success in the crypto sector in recent years, Reku’s expansion into US stocks addresses a growing demand for accessible global investment opportunities in Southeast Asia’s largest emerging market.
Reku’s platform, in partnership with Pasar FX and Alpaca Securities LLC, ensures legal compliance and security for transactions, which are processed directly on major US stock exchanges like the NYSE and NASDAQ. Reku’s new offering is supported by advanced features such as its “Insights” tool, which aids investors in making informed decisions by analyzing market data and trends.
Jesse further commented on the platform’s user-centric innovations, explaining that Reku’s comprehensive features, including investment “Packs” and ETFs, are tailored to enhance user confidence and simplify the investment process, supporting novice and experienced investors alike.
As part of its commitment to education and community engagement in Indonesia, Reku is also intensifying its efforts to increase financial literacy about global asset classes by collaborating with educational institutions and community groups.
The company’s strategic move into US stocks complements Reku’s ongoing commitment to the crypto market, ensuring that the platform continues to meet the evolving financial needs of its maturing user base.
Reku’s suite of features enables convenient tracking and monitoring of investments in US stocks and cryptocurrencies. Jesse highlighted, “To enhance our users’ ability to oversee their investment performance, we’ve integrated a ‘Portfolio Analysis’ feature. This tool simplifies the process of tracking both US stocks and crypto assets.”
The US stock market traditionally operates for 6.5 hours each business day. To better serve Indonesian investors who live in a different time zone, Reku extends trading hours to 16 hours daily, allowing investment activities and order placements during off-market hours.
In parallel to the addition of US stocks, Reku remains committed to the crypto sector. Jesse emphasized, “Introducing US stocks does not shift our focus from the crypto asset market. We leverage our experience in crypto to enhance our offerings in US stocks, maintaining our competitiveness through affordability, liquidity, and security.”
In the first half of 2024, Reku reported profitability, with growth exceeding three times its size from the previous year. Looking ahead, Reku plans to further expand its services in global asset classes, including crypto and US stocks, tailored to diverse investor needs.
The platform complies with the regulations of Indonesia’s Commodity and Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (BAPPEBTI), the Jakarta Futures Exchange (JFX), and the Indonesian Futures Clearing House (KBI).
